How many impressions does the algorithm steal from you for leaving the link inside the post?

The 2026 distribution signals penalize external links in the body of your text. Move the controls: you'll see the real cost in 30 seconds.

Methodology and formulas (so you can disagree from knowledge)

1 · Link penalty: we apply a 0.70 factor — the top of the −55%…−70% range found in public 2025-26 distribution reports — to posts with a link in the body. It's an editable assumption: if you believe it's −50%, the result changes linearly.

2 · Estimated "clean" reach: your average impressions R mix posts with and without links. We solve for the average of an unpenalized post: clean = R / (1 − 0.7·p), where p = fraction of linked posts.

3 · Monthly loss: lost = posts × p × clean × 0.7. Lost visits use your v/1000 ratio. None of this is a promise: it's arithmetic on your inputs with one published factor — if someone sells you "+900% guaranteed reach", open the Network tab… and run.
