The rule: "Funnel hacking is not about copying. It's about understanding the psychology behind why a funnel works. You're reverse-engineering the strategy, not the design." — ClickFunnels Podcast
Find 3-5 competitors selling what you sell. Subscribe to their newsletter, buy their lead magnet, go through their full funnel.
- Did I identify 3-5 direct competitors?
- Did I subscribe to their newsletter?
- Did I download their lead magnet?
- Did I go through their full funnel (TOFU→BOFU)?
What pages do they have? In what order? What's the structure?
- Opt-in page (lead magnet)?
- Thank-you / bridge page?
- Webinar / VSL / Sales page?
- Order bump at checkout?
- Post-purchase upsell / downsell?
What do they sell? At what price? What bonuses? What guarantee?
- Main product price?
- Included bonuses (and perceived value)?
- Guarantee (timeframe and conditions)?
- Urgency (time, seats, price)?
Screenshots of: headline, subheadline, bullets, CTA, testimonials.
- Main headline (promise)?
- Bullets (key benefits)?
- CTA (verb + outcome)?
- Testimonials (format + data)?
What emails do you get afterwards? How many? How often? What urgency do they use?
- How many emails in the sequence?
- Frequency between emails?
- Urgency in the last emails?
- A 30-day re-touch?
Reverse-engineering = understanding the strategy. NOT copying the design or copy.
- Did I document the full structure?
- Did I identify what works and why?
- Did I adapt the strategy to MY audience?
- Did I create MY version (not a copy)?
